Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time

News and Notes: After a brief hiatus during July and August, the 5PM Sunday Mass at St. Maria Goretti Parish will resume next Sunday, September 10.  Thanks to Donna Hegan and all the SMG parishioners for hosting a brunch following the 11AM Mass at OLA on August 13.  This festive social gathering was very well attended and the food was delicious, a fitting celebration in honor of the patronal feast of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and School.

Another social in the Collaborative is on tap for next weekend…a softball game and cookout on the field of SMG parish following the 10AM Mass on Sunday, September 10.  Cornhole Boards and Bean Bags will also be available for those who want to play that game.  Join us for Mass, food and fun next Sunday morning at SMG.

Confirmation Season is upon us.  The eleventh graders from SMG will be confirmed at the 5PM Mass on Sunday, September 24; the OLA eleventh graders will be confirmed on October 22 at either the 11AM or 2PM Mass that Sunday.  Let’s keep all of our young Catholics in mind as they prepare to profess their faith, and receive the Holy Spirit who will seal their baptism and bestow gifts on them so that they can be strong and effective witness of Christ and active members of our Church.  Happy Labor Day and blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
