Twenty-sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
News and Notes: Our eleventh graders in both parishes will be confirmed next month. The SMG Confirmation liturgy will be celebrated by Bishop Mark O’Connell, the Auxiliary Bishop of the North Region of the Archdiocese, on Sunday, October 9 at the 5PM Mass; the OLA Confirmation liturgies will be celebrated by Father James Flavin, the Episcopal Vicar of the Central Region of the Archdiocese, on October 30 at 11AM and 2PM Masses. Let’s all pray for our young men and women who are scheduled to be confirmed, that the gifts of the Holy Spirit they will receive on Confirmation Day will empower them to be strong and effective witnesses to Christ, and active members of the Catholic Church, in our parishes and beyond. Thanks to Steve Gannon, our Director of Youth Faith Formation and Ministry, and all those parishioners who are assisting him in these final stages of preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation!
A New Seminarian
A warm and hearty welcome to Deacon John Cronin, a seminarian from the Diocese of Albany New York (same diocese as now Father Rick Lesser). Deacon John is in his fourth and final year of priestly formation at Pope St. John XXIII Seminary in Weston and will be with us on the weekends until May 2017.
Join us for a brunch at Our Lady of the Assumption Church Hall this Sunday 9/25 following the 11AM Mass. Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
