Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
News and Notes:
This weekend we are celebrating Catechetical Sunday 2020. This third Sunday of September not only marks the kickoff of a new year of faith formation for our children and adults. It is also an annual occasion to pray publically for our parents (the first and most important teachers of the Catholic faith to their children) and all of our catechists, who share their time and faith to help our children grow in their relationship with Christ and his Church.
Here is a prayer of blessing which we can all pray for those who will be teaching our children at home and in our parish and school buildings: “Lord God, source of all wisdom and knowledge, you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to live among us and to proclaim his message of faith, hope and love to all nations. In your goodness bless our brothers and sisters who have offered themselves as catechists for your Church. Strengthen them with your gifts that they may teach by word and example the truth that comes from you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
Blessings to all of you as Autumn begins!
