Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time

News and Notes:  Thanks to Donna Hegan and several other parishioners of St. Maria Goretti Parish for hosting a brunch for Our Lady of the Assumption parishioners in the OLA Church Hall following the 11AM Mass on Sunday, August 12.  Despite the torrential rains that seeped into the Church Hall that day, this social event was very well attended and gratefully received by the OLA folks.  It was offered in honor of the patronal feast of OLA, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which fell on Wednesday, August 15.

The 5PM Sunday Mass at SMG will resume next Sunday, September 9---please spread the word.  Also next Sunday, SMG will host a softball game following the 10AM Mass.  It will be a contest between dads and daughters on one side, and moms and sons on the other side.   A cookout will follow the game.

If you have not yet made a donation to the Chimney Challenge (OLA) or the Stairs Challenge (SMG) and wish to do so, please place your contribution in the collection basket or send it to your parish address.  Many thanks for your faithful stewardship of the buildings and grounds of your spiritual home.

Happy Labor Day weekend…and blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
