Thirty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time
The amazing conversion story of Zacchaeus concludes with Jesus announcing: “Today salvation has come to this house because this man too is a descendant of Abraham. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost.” The Lord likely had been preparing him all along for this encounter by silently tugging at this heart and nudging his conscience. If we are open and docile to the Lord’s promptings, we can write and tell our own conversion story of how Christ has given us a new lease on life by forgiving our transgressions, healing our wounds, and softening our hearts, just like he once did for Zacchaeus.
