Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica in Rome

News and Notes:  Thank you to all the OLA parishioners who are participating in our Increased Offertory Appeal (IOA).  The results continue to be very positive and encouraging, with many families choosing to return a Commitment Envelope.  It is not too late to participate in Our Lady’s IOA.  There are additional materials in the church.  Please return your “Commitment Envelope” as soon as possible by mail or place it in the collection basket at Mass next weekend.  Your participation in this effort helps our parish meet its growing financial obligations.  Please consider a new giving level that is best suited to your circumstances.  This will allow OLA parish to plan accurately and confidently for the future.  Thanks again to those individuals and families who have participated in this effort so far.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.    Remember:  our parish community is a reflection of each of its members.  Our generosity determines what a community can do for others.  A small sacrifice makes a big difference.  Next weekend, St. Maria Goretti Parish will begin its Increased Offertory Appeal.  I will be speaking at all the Masses along with Mike Tetrault from the SMG Finance Council.  Just a brief update:  SMG is still about $3000 short of its 2014 Catholic Appeal assessment.  If you have not yet made a pledge to the Catholic Appeal, please consider doing so before the end of this calendar year.  Pledge cards are still located on a table near the front entrance of the church.  If we do not reach our fair share assessment total at SMG, we will have to pay out of our savings.  Thank you one and all for your faithful stewardship of our parishes!  The Thanksgiving Day Mass this year for our two parishes will take place at St. Maria Goretti Church on Thursday, November 27 at 9AM.  Please plan to join us before your Thanksgiving festivities begin.  Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
