First Sunday of Advent

News and Notes: Another Holyday of Obligation is on the horizon: it is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the patronal feast day of the United States.

Masses in the Collaborative will take place as follows:

Wednesday, December 7:  4PM at OLA
Thursday, December 8:      7AM at SMG, 9AM at OLA, 7PM at SMG

Though Advent is not the penitential season that Lent is, it is a sacred time to prepare the way of the Lord and the feast of his birth.  In addition to weekly Saturday confessions from 3-3:45PM in both parishes, a priest will be available to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation in both parishes on Monday, December 19 from 6:30-7:30PM.

Thanks to those who have already made an annual financial commitment to the Offertory of their respective parish.   If you have not yet done so, I strongly encourage you to join me and the lay parish leadership of both OLA and SMG in becoming an “intentional giver” to ensure sufficient support of our mission as a Catholic community this fiscal year and going forward.

Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
