Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time

News and Notes:  Join us this Sunday evening 11/19 at 6:30PM at St. Maria Goretti Church for a Candlelight Vigil Ecumenical Prayer Service as our response to the Opioid Addiction Crisis that has become such a scourge in our country and a menacing plague for so many individuals and families.  This service will include music, witness talks and an opportunity to offer prayers for all those affected by this dreadful disease of substance addiction.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend this special spiritual event in our Collaborative and town.

This weekend is Offertory Commitment Weekend in our two parishes.  I am asking every family in our Collaborative to consider first the many blessings they have received from God, and in return for these divine favors, to make a generous pledge of their treasure in the coming year to support the mission of their respective parish, encompassing both its ordinary operational expenses and the ongoing need for capital improvement projects in its facilities.  Perhaps the following quote from St. Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians is worth pondering this weekend: “You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity.”

Start your Thanksgiving Day (11/23) by celebrating Mass with us at 9AM, this year at OLA.  Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
