Solemnity of all Saints

News and Notes:  Congratulations to the 131 eleventh graders from our two parishes who were confirmed by Father Gerry Petringa the last two Sundays in October.  These young men and women were anointed with the holy chrism that sealed their baptism and empowered them with the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit (wisdom, counsel or right judgment, knowledge, understanding, courage, piety or reverence, wonder or awe in the presence of the Lord) to bear an effective witness to Jesus Christ.  Thanks to Stephen Gannon, our Collaborative Director of Youth Faith Formation and Confirmation Coordinator at SMG, and Andrea Gagnon, the Confirmation Coordinator at OLA, for their leadership in our two year Confirmation Preparation Program.  Speaking of gratitude, it certainly goes out to Angela Siraco and many others from OLA who contributed to the Pasta Dinner on October 17 in celebration of Fr. Rick Lesser’s return to offer the 4PM Mass there.  We owe the same expression of thanks to Donna Hegan and Jo-Anne Rogers and friends from SMG who hosted a collation in Fr. Rick’s honor on Sunday morning, October 18 in the Priests’ Residence following the 10AM Mass at which he presided.  A good time was had by all, especially Fr. Rick!

The Collaborative Pastoral Council representatives from OLA will host a Town Hall style meeting on Sunday, November 15 in the OLA Church Hall following the 11AM Mass.  Come and lend your ear and your voice as we discuss our Pastoral Plan for the next three years and how you can help make it happen.  Next weekend, we will celebrate Memorial Masses for the deceased of our parishes since last November (4PM on 11/7 at OLA and 10AM on 11/8 at SMG).  Join us as we honor and pray for our loved ones and friends who have gone home to God.  Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
