Third Sunday of Easter

News and Notes:

First Holy Communicants... Congratulations to our second graders in the Lynnfield Catholic Collaborative Faith Formation program for receiving their First Holy Communion this weekend.  Thanks to Kate McGrath, and Colleen Gioioso and Jamie Bossi (SMG) along with all our parents and catechists in both parishes for assisting our children in reaching this sacramental milestone of their spiritual life.

“The Roe Act”... As you may know, there is a proposed bill called “The Roe Act” (Act to Remove Obstacles and Expand Abortion Access) currently under consideration by both the State Senate and State House of Representatives in the Massachusetts Legislature.  Among other provisions in this bill are measures that would allow abortion on demand in the Commonwealth for all nine months of pregnancy; and the removal of any requirement that efforts be made to save a living baby who survives the abortion procedure.  Our Media Ministry Director Marie Lagman has posted a recommended Course of Action by the Archdiocese in response to this bill.  It can be found on a link in our new website.  There you can find instructions on how to contact your representatives to urge them to vote “No” on “The Roe Act.”

Catholic Appeal Update... As of April 17, OLA parishioners had pledged $45,585, which is 69% of their goal of $66,232; and SMG parishioners had pledged $27,890, which is 66% of their goal of $42,207.  Thanks to our donors thus far.  If you have not yet donated to the Catholic Appeal this year, please make a pledge as soon as possible by filling out a pledge card you can find at the front entrance of our churches or go online to bostoncatholicappeal.org.

May the blessings of the Easter Season be yours!
