Sixth Sunday of Easter

News and Notes:  Our Pastoral Team has for months now been part of an extensive training program run by Archdiocesan representatives and a national organization called the Catholic Leadership Institute.  In a recent exercise, we were asked to compose a “Team Purpose Statement”.  Here is what we came up with: “Our team-related purpose is to use our servant-leadership and cooperative spirit to empower and support all members of the Lynnfield Catholic Collaborative so that we grow together in our relationship with Jesus and one another in the Body of Christ.  Our Pastoral Team is committed to modeling intentional discipleship in service to the faithful in our parishes so that we call embrace and live out the new evangelization.”  To celebrate our first anniversary as your priests in the two Lynnfield parishes, Fr. Tony and I will be hosting an Open House in each parish in the coming weeks.  Next Sunday, June 8, we invite St. Maria Goretti parishioners to join us for light fare in the Rectory following the 10AM Mass.  Here is the latest 2014 Catholic Appeal update; as of May 21, 208 OLA parishioners had pledged $47,082 which is 88% of their goal; 108 SMG parishioners had pledged $23,405, which is 79% of their goal.  If you have not yet made a pledge to support the Central Ministries of our local Church in this year’s Catholic Appeal, please pick up and fill out a pledge card at the entrance of one of our churches and help us contribute our fair share to the mission of the Catholic Church in Eastern Massachusetts.  Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
