The OLA Church Doors

Many thanks to the two OLA families who generously donated all the funds needed to replace the aging doors of OLA Church.  The newly installed doors have received widespread praise and have considerably enhanced the beauty and brightness of that beloved house of God.  I wish to thank the late Mimi Simione for her vision and passionate commitment to this project; our Facilities Manager, JJ Kenney, for his work on the design of the doors; and our Architect Angelo Petrozzelli, from Design Partnership Architects, Inc. of Haverhill, MA, for his work with the Contractors that manufactured and installed the doors.  Two practical notes: Please do not tape or hang anything on these doors so that we maintain them properly and for the time being, please use the metal plate to enter the Chapel doors. 

New Members of our Team

I am happy to announce the appointment of Colleen Gioioso as the Faith Formation Coordinator for Grades 1-6 at St. Maria Goretti Parish and Cheryl Nunes as the Co-Faith Formation Coordinator (along with Kate McGrath) for Grades 1-6 at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish as of July 1.  Cheryl is replacing Piri Collard, who has resigned her position for family reasons. I want to express my gratitude to Piri for her service the last year.  She brought her signature joy and love of her faith to her leadership role in the OLA Faith Formation program.  Piri will now devote her volunteer time to our newly formed Book Club as well as the Bible Study program; and she will continue her wonderful service as one of our Wedding Coordinators.  Heartfelt thanks to Piri and a warm welcome to Colleen and Cheryl…and blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
