Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

News and Notes:  I am pleased to announce the appointment of Michael McDuffee as the Confirmation Coordinator at St. Maria Goretti Parish.  Mike has been very active in ministry, teaching theology at St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, and serving as a leader in Music Ministry and Youth Ministry at St. Malachy Parish in Burlington.  Mike has also been involved in LIFT, a monthly Eucharistic Adoration service for teens and young adults in Milton, and Catholic Heart Work Camp, a weeklong service and worship experience for young people around the country.  Mike will be working with Collin McBride, our Director of Youth Ministries, and Andrea Gagnon, the continuing Confirmation Coordinator at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, to help form our young people of High School age.  All three of these talented young adults will also participate in our Music Ministry, especially the 5PM Mass at St. Maria’s, which we hope will attract more teens and young families beginning in the Fall.  Welcome aboard Mike!  Looking ahead to the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Friday, August 15, a Holy Day of Obligation, here is the Mass Schedule: 

August  14: 4PM at OLA and 7PM at SMG
August 15: 7AM at SMG and 9AM at OLA
