Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
News and Notes:
In addition to the weekend schedule we have been observing during the month of July, we are adding an 11AM Sunday Mass at OLA beginning next Sunday, August 2. Please continue to wear masks or face coverings, and observe social distancing when you attend Mass at either of our churches. Thank you for your cooperation!
Here are some inspiring words from Gerald Vann, OP about living the Eucharist we receive at Mass:
“At the end of Mass we are told to go back to the everyday world and, empowered by the life we have received, live our Christian lives: doing, working, sharing in the redemptive activity of Christ…this is indeed fundamental to the whole Christian concept of living…there is so much to be done, to be achieved, to be created...we may need great zest and energy to do all this if our time in the world is to be short; we will need a dogged perseverance, so as not to lose heart or courage or enthusiasm, if our time is to be long. But in either way, we must above all, see our Christian life [as a call to action nourished by the Eucharist].”
Blessings to all of you in the summer days ahead!
