Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

News and Notes:  Once again, I invite all OLA parishioners to join me in the Chimney Challenge.  We are seeking to raise $10,000 before Labor Day to rebuild the chimney that is on the side of the Office Building on Grove St.  Because of the numerous stress fractures and cracked bricks caused by water leakage over the years, we need to demolish and remove the existing chimney structure and then rebuild it with the best matching brick available.  If you have seen the recent pictures of this damaged chimney that Marie Lagman (our Director of Media Ministry) has taken, you can spot the multiple chipped bricks and water stains, and understand better why we have to take care of this project as soon as possible.  I have made a personal donation of $500 for this work and challenge OLA parishioners to match or exceed this amount, although I will welcome with gratitude all donations for the Chimney Challenge.  If you wish to contribute, you can write out your check to OLA with “Chimney Challenge” in the memo line and send it to me at OLA 17 Grove St. Lynnfield.   Many thanks for your faithful and generous stewardship of our buildings and grounds!

Anyone interested in applying for the position of our Collaborative Finance and Human Resources Manager is invited to go to the home page of our website (www.lynnfieldcatholic.org) to review the Job Description and fill out an application.  We would like to fill this position as soon as possible.

Please extend a warm welcome to Father Francis Barka Nado from the African Mission Fathers who will be with us for the month of August to celebrate Mass, hear confessions and extend pastoral care to our parishioners during his stay with us.  Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
