Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

News and Notes:

I wish to inform you that Caterina Benitez, our Collaborative Finance and Operations Manager, has decided to resign her position for personal reasons at the end of August.  During the past five years, Caterina has worked hard in the areas of Finance and Property Management as well as Human Resources to help us implement our Pastoral Plan in the early years of our Collaborative.  Join me in thanking Caterina for her dedicated service to our parishes and school and in wishing her good health, much happiness and great success in all her future endeavors and plans.  Anyone interested in this position (now called Finance and Human Resources Manager) can go to our website (lynnfieldcatholic.org) for the Job Description and Application.

I am issuing a Chimney Challenge to OLA parishioners to help us raise about $10,000 more to repair the damaged and leaking chimney at the Collaborative Office Building on Grove St.  You can see the broken bricks and many ugly leak stains in photos that Marie Lagman, our Media Ministry Director, has taken and provided in this bulletin and on our website.  There are leaks inside the Building as well.  I am making an initial personal contribution of $500 and challenging as many parishioners as possible to meet or exceed that amount.  All contributions are welcome.  We want to raise the money by Labor Day, so we can hire the contractors to do the work well before the winter season begins.  You can make out your checks to OLA Chimney Challenge and send your donation to my attention at 17 Grove St. Lynnfield, MA 01940.  Many thanks for considering this invitation to help us exercise proper stewardship of our property.

Please respond generously to the appeal of Fr. Bernard Bubolo, who will be speaking on behalf of our annual Mission Cooperative Collection at Masses in both parishes this weekend. Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
