Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
News and Notes: This weekend at all Masses, we will begin the new second collection system established by the Archdiocese of Boston. Starting this weekend, a number of beneficiaries of an annual collection taken up in our parishes will be bundled, thus reducing the number of second collections we will take up every calendar year. This weekend’s second collection is for “Support of the Church around the World.” So whatever total amount is donated will be divided among the following recipients: the Church in Latin America; the Church in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe; the US Military Archdiocese; Home Missions; Black and Native Americans; and Catholic Relief Services. Please keep this new method of supporting multiple deserving causes in mind as you consider your contribution to this second collection. Thank you in anticipation of your generous support for the Church’s mission throughout the world.
Catholic Schools Week begins today. We are very blessed to have an excellent parochial school in the Lynnfield Catholic Collaborative. All prospective families considering enrollment of their child at OLA School in the coming year are invited to an Open House this Sunday, January 28 from 12Noon-2PM. Next weekend (February 3-4), we will take up a special second collection at all the Masses to support the great educational and formative work of OLA School. Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
