Baptism of the Lord

News and Notes:  Many thanks to all those who contributed in any way to our celebration of the Christmas Season.   A special and grateful “shout-out” to Fr. Tony and Kathy Lucey for their leadership role in decorating our churches so exquisitely; to Jayson Cote, other musicians, the cantors and choir for their beautiful music; to Dan Whelan, Francis Pham and JJ Kenney for their invaluable set-up work; to Diane Jenkins and Lisa Caswell for their coordinating roles in the Giving Tree program in our two parishes just prior to Christmas; to Caterina Benitez and Andrew Nicastro for their efforts to simulcast the 4PM Christmas Eve Mass at St. Maria’s; and to Donna Hegan for her work in organizing and running the SMG Epiphany Pageant; and to all our dedicated liturgical ministers.  On behalf of Fr. Tony, I want to thank all those who sent us cards and gifts for Christmas.  We are humbled and grateful for your kindness and generosity.  Let’s just say that we had plenty of food and drink during the Christmas Season!  As we return to our liturgical observance of Ordinary Time we do so uplifted by our celebration of the Lord’s Nativity.  Please join us for a Pasta Dinner in the OLA Church Hall following the 4PM Mass next Saturday, January 17.  At the dinner we will be celebrating our seminarian intern Rick Lesser’s ordination to the diaconate which took place on January 3 in Albany, New York.  Also, mark your calendars to attend our annual Holy Hour for Life, which will be led by Deacon Tom O’Shea on Wednesday, January 21 at SMG beginning at 7PM.  Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
