Third Sunday of Lent

News and Notes:  Don’t forget a couple of inspiring Thursday evening events the next few weeks at St. Maria Goretti Parish.  This coming Thursday, March 3, we will hear the powerful story of St. Maria Goretti, a remarkable young woman whose courageous faith and Christ-like mercy have been instrumental in drawing others to Christ, even her assailant.  Then on March 10, some SMG parishioners will be giving their personal witness talks, speaking about how the grace of our merciful Savior has been at work in their lives.  Both of these Thursday events begin at 6:30PM.  I encourage all the members of our collaborative to take advantage of multiple opportunities to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation this Lent.  In addition to the regular Saturday afternoon schedule of celebrating this sacrament from 3-3:45PM, on Wednesday evenings through March 23, confessions will be heard from 6:30 to 7:30PM in one of the parish Reconciliation Rooms (the schedule is in the bulletin and on our website).  During Holy Week, we will be offering the Sacrament of Penance in both parishes on Monday, March 21 from 6:30-7:30PM.  Here is our schedule for liturgies for the Easter Triduum:

March 24: Mass of Holy Thursday of the Lord’s Supper:   OLA 7PM
March 25: Stations of the Cross led by the Children of OLA School:  OLA 3PM
March 25: Liturgy of Good Friday of the Passion of the Lord:  SMG 7PM
March 26: The Easter Vigil of the Holy Night:  SMG 7PM
March 27: Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord:  OLA 7AM, SMG 8AM, OLA 9AM, SMG 10AM, OLA 11AM

Blessings to all of you in the Lenten week ahead!
