Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
News and Notes: One of our early Lenten offerings is an opportunity to “Meet the Bishop” on Tuesday, March 7 at 7PM in the OLA Church Hall. Bishop Mark O’Connell, the Regional Bishop of the North Region of the Archdiocese of Boston and the Pastor of nearby St. Theresa Parish in North Reading, will be with us principally to answer any questions you may have about the Church. Bishop Mark has also served for years as the Judicial Vicar and leader of the Metropolitan Tribunal and can respond to any questions you may have about the annulment process or any other matter of Church law. Join us for an evening of conversation with our new Regional Bishop!
Continuing my profile of our Collaborative Team members, we are blessed to have such a dedicated and capable Director of Parish Ministries (DPM). Donna Delahanty serves our Collaborative in ways too many to mention. The role she has taken on (DPM) is brand new in the Archdiocese. In this role, she manages all the ministries, both professional and volunteer, in our two parishes. Donna has broad experience in lay ecclesial ministry, earning certification in the positions of Director of Religious Education/Faith Formation and Pastoral Associate over the years. Here in our Catholic Community, she supervises our personnel and programming in both adult and children’s Faith Formation, oversees the formation of our liturgical ministers (especially at OLA), has a leadership role in our Rite of Christian Initiation for Children and Adults, and assists parishioners in the annulment process, among many other responsibilities. Donna is a valuable ex-officio member of our Collaborative Pastoral Council and she also serves on our Vocations Committee. We owe her a debt of gratitude for her ongoing, generous service in our midst.
Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
