Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

News and Notes:  The season of Lent is fast approaching!  Here is the schedule for Ash Wednesday, February 18, and the distribution of ashes: 7AM Mass at SMG, 9AM Mass at OLA, 4PM Liturgy of Word at SMG, 7PM Liturgy of the Word at OLA

The imposition of ashes occurs within a communal celebration, either Mass or a service of the Word.  Please do not come to the Business Office or the Priest’s Residence looking for blessed ashes on Ash Wednesday.  Next weekend we will observe the World Day of the Sick (the actual date for this celebration is February 11, the memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes) by offering the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick following the Saturday 4PM Masses in both parishes and after the Sunday 10AM Mass at SMG and 11AM Mass at OLA.  All those who are seriously ill, facing surgery or elderly with declining health are eligible to receive this sacrament.  On the weekend of February 14-15, we will celebrate World Marriage Day by giving our married couples the opportunity to renew their marriage vows during Mass.  Join us for the Valentine’s Day Wine-Tasting event at the Lynnfield Meetinghouse on Saturday, February 7 from 7-11PM, sponsored by St. Maria Goretti Parish, and the Ham and Bean Supper following the 4PM Mass at OLA on Saturday, February 14, sponsored by Our Lady of the Assumption Parish.  Your donations are appreciated and needed to run these wonderful socials.  Winter blessings to all of you!
