News and Notes:

Thanks to Will Bachner, the Vice Principal of OLA School and leader of its Drama Club, other assisting adults and especially the children of the School for a wonderful performance of “The Elves and theShoemaker” on the weekend of December 1-2 in the OLA Church.  Attendees at this play received a delightful pre-Christmas gift!

Please welcome John Mehrmann to the staff of our Collaborative Music Ministry.  John succeeds Bette Mahoney, our beloved keyboardist for over 3 decades, who retired last October.  John has a strong educational background, including a degree with honors from the New England Conservatory.  He served in the Music Ministry of St. Brendan the Navigator Parish in Camden, ME for 5 years and plays the drums as well as the keyboard instruments.  John lives with his wife Abigail in Belmont, MA.  We are happy to welcome them to the Lynnfield Catholic Community!

Don’t forget the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, which occurs this week.  It is a Holyday of Obligation.  Masses will be celebrated as follows:

Monday December 31: 4PM at both SMG and OLA
Tuesday, January 1:  9AM at SMG and 11AM at OLA

A collection for the support of our respective parishes will be taken up at each of these Masses.
