Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
News and Notes: Don’t forget our upcoming socials, the Pasta Dinner at OLA on Saturday September 13 after the 4 PM Mass and the Collaborative Barbeque at SMG on Sunday, September 21 after the 10 AM Mass. Besides the Barbeque, the outdoor games and the Chili Cook-Off on 9/21 we will also have the musical talents of the Transistors, who will serenade us with the “Sounds of the Sixties” that day. Thanks to the Knight of Columbus for their generous assistance in running this event. If you have not registered your child for the Religious Education program in our two parishes for the coming year, please do soon as soon as possible. Classes begin the first week of October. St. Maria Goretti Parishioners are encouraged to attend an important “Town Meeting” on Monday, September 22 at 7PM in the SMG Church Hall. On Labor Day weekend, here is a prayer from the Roman Missal for the Sanctification of Human Labor: “O God, Creator of all things, who have commanded the human race to bear the burdens of labor, grant that the work we are beginning may bring progress in this life and, by your favor, advance the spread of the Kingdom of Christ. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.” Happy Labor Day weekend to all of you!
