Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time

News and Notes:  All adult parishioners are invited to the first of my lectures to the faculty of OLA School, which will take place on Monday, August 29 at from 11AM to noontime in the School Cafeteria.  The topic is a Catholic theology of Scripture. After my talk, there will be about 20-30 minutes for questions and discussion.  This lecture is part of Boston College’s C21 series which our Catholic School teachers are taking in their ongoing formation and certification program. 

The 5PM Sunday Mass at St. Maria Goretti Parish will resume on Sunday, September 11.  Spread the word!  Beginning on Sunday, October 2, Bobby Thorp, the talented music teacher at OLA School will be leading song with the children of the School at the 9AM Sunday Mass on the first Sunday of every month.  Also new this coming fall will be the format of our Confirmation program.  All classes will be held on Sundays at St. Maria Goretti Church, and will begin with the 5PM Mass, with our teens serving in various liturgical roles, including our music ministry.  The Pastoral Team hopes that these developments will deepen our children’s experience of the Mass and draw more people to active participation in our community of faith.  Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
