Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time

News and Notes:  Welcome Aboard Deacon Fran!

I am happy to announce the appointment of Francis Burke to the position of Finance and Human Resources Manager in the Lynnfield Catholic Collaborative as of September 4.  Fran was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate in the Archdiocese of Boston in 2014, and is currently serving in the Chelmsford Catholic Collaborative.  He has extensive corporate experience, having served in multiple roles at Intel Corporation for a decade.  Deacon Fran brings IT expertise, along with a background in budgeting, fund raising, and a full complement of business skills to his new position with us. He also served as the Director of Spiritual Life at Lowell Catholic for three years and is presently a Diaconate Formator for deacon candidates preparing for service in the Archdiocese.  I want to express my sincere thanks to our Search Committee (David McCarthy, Richard O’Connor, Richard Mazzola, Donna Delahanty, Cynthia Donovan, Will Bachner, Len Morrison and Fr. Tony) for their great work reviewing 22 resumes and interviewing 7 candidates leading to Fran’s appointment.  Join me in welcoming Deacon Fran to our Catholic Community!

I also wish to announce that our Parish Finance Assistant, Christine Breslow, has completed her fine service to the parishes of our Collaborative.  She deserves our gratitude for the very efficient, capable assistance she has given to our outgoing Finance and Operations Manager, Caterina Benitez, over the last several years.  We certainly wish Chris well in all her future endeavors.

Don’t Forget!

1) The Second Collection this weekend to support the African Mission Fathers, who serve us so well each August.

2) The Sunday 5PM Mass returns from its Summer break on September 9.

3) Your parish needs you to support the Office Building Chimney Challenge at OLA or the Rectory Stairs Challenge at SMG.  Send in your donation soon to your respective parish address.

Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
