Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time
News and Notes: I am saddened to announce that Collin McBride, our Coordinator of Youth Ministries in the Collaborative the last two years, has resigned his position due to changing family circumstances. In his short time with us, Collin has done to a great job of redesigning our Confirmation program in both parishes and planting the seeds for a well-rounded Youth Ministry. Collin also shared his wonderful musical gifts with us, playing the guitar and singing at Confirmation liturgies and the 5PM Sunday Masses together with what I have called “the Holy Spirit Band,” as well as teaming up with Jayson Cote in providing music for the OLA School Masses. He has also been a very supportive member of our Pastoral Team. Join me in thanking Collin for his faithful service to the Lynnfield Catholic Collaborative the last couple of years, and in wishing him well in all his future endeavors.
I am happy to announce the appointment of Alexis McDuffee to the position of Faith Formation Coordinator for Grades 1-6 at OLA. Alexis has family roots in OLA Parish, has been a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Ministry program for Laity at St. John’s Seminary in Boston, and has served before in both Faith Formation and Youth Ministry positions, including a brief stint as Coordinator of Youth Ministry in the two Catholic parishes in Chelmsford. It is a joy for me to welcome Alexis to her leadership role in the Faith Formation program at OLA! Thanks to the parishioners of both parishes for contributing $1,553 to support members of our Collaborative in serving a meal at My Brother’s Table on August 18. It is gratifying to me that our parishes came together to feed the hungry (a Corporal Work of Mercy) that particular evening in Lynn. Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
