Fifth Sunday of Lent

and Notes:  Just a reminder: as in the past, the one and only collection taken up at all the Masses on Easter weekend (April 15-16) will benefit the Clergy Funds to support the retirement, financial and medical needs of the priests of the Archdiocese of Boston.  On behalf of Fr. Tony and myself, heartfelt thanks for your generosity to this important collection!  If you would like to make an Easter donation to either parish, please do so in a clearly marked envelope or with a memo on your check indicating your preference.  All other money collected that weekend will be directed to the Clergy Funds.  Also, next weekend (April 8-9), we are taking up a second collection at all Masses for our Capital Improvement needs.  Again, thanks for your faithful stewardship of your respective parish.

Also, next weekend we encourage all families in our Collaborative to register their children for faith formation classes that begin in the Fall.  You can register your child in one of our respective Church Halls after you attend a Palm Sunday Mass, and get a discount on the cost ($135 per student) and a head start on settling your family schedule for the next school year!

Here is an update on our performance in the 2017 Catholic Appeal so far:  As of March 13, SMG parishioners had pledged $11,805, which is 64% of their goal; OLA parishioners had pledged $27,095 which is 46% of their goal.  Thanks for this encouraging early response to the 2017 Catholic Appeal which supports over 50 Central Ministries in our particular Church.  Once again this year, if any given parish exceeds its assessment, it will receive 60% of the surplus funds pledged and paid for…a great additional motivation to give to the Catholic Appeal in the name of your parish if you have not already done so.

Join us for Witness Talk night at St. Maria’s this Thursday, April 6 at 6:30PM; and looking ahead, mark your calendars for a special Divine Mercy Sunday service on Sunday, April 23, from 2-3:30PM at St. Maria’s.  This service will include the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, a witness talk, concert, and opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
