Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord
News and Notes: Many thanks to all those who had any part in making our Easter Triduum a beautiful liturgical celebration of our faith in Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection. Special thanks go to Jayson Cote and our music ministry, and all those who helped to decorate our churches for Holy Week. On behalf of Fr. Tony, I want to thank you for your generous offering to this weekend’s Clergy Funds collection, which helps our local Church care for the health and well-being of its 598 diocesan priests. We priests dedicate our lives in service of the faithful to whom the bishop sends us. It is our responsibility to celebrate the sacraments, preach and teach the Word of God given to us in Scripture and our wider Catholic Tradition, and offer pastoral care to the portion of the God’s people entrusted to us. Nearly five years into our assignment as your priests, Fr. Tony and I are very grateful for your prayers and support in so many ways. An Easter update on our performance so far in the 2018 Catholic Appeal: as of March 8 (a few days before Commitment Weekend), OLA parishioners had pledged $22,390, or 36% of their goal; SMG parishioners had pledged $14,890 or 39% of their goal. If you have not made a pledge to the Catholic Appeal as of yet, please do so and help us achieve your respective parish’s goal. You’ll find pledge forms at the entrances of our churches, or you can go online to www.bostoncatholicappeal.org. Our Pastoral Team wishes you a joyful Easter!
