Cancer and Chronic Illness Support Group
Saugus Catholics Collaborative
Saugus Catholics Collaborative offers a Cancer and Chronic Illness Support Group, and welcomes our parishioners and participants of other faiths. It meets at Blessed Sacrament Church (14 Summer Street, Saugus) on the third Wednesday of every month at 5:30 pm. Meetings begin in the church with an evening prayer and remembering the deceased. Then the group moves downstairs to the church hall for conversation and fellowship over a simple meal. An important component is the "sharing circle" when members have the opportunity to express themselves in a safe and confidential environment. Occasionally, speakers are invited to share information about nutrition, fitness, or other subjects. Resource materials are also available.
If you are battling cancer or a chronic illness, are a survivor, or are a caregiver for someone with an illness, you're welcome to join. For more information, please contact Linda Riley, Saugus Catholics Collaborative Ministry Manager, or Judi Tremblay.
Centering Prayer
Holy Redeemer Immaculate Conception Collaborative
Centering prayer is a practice and a discipline. Daily periods of silent prayer shift focus from self to God. As God becomes the center of our being the vicissitudes and storms of life affect us less. Living out of God as our Center we experience the peace the world cannot give. Consider leaving the noise of the world and the busyness of your day behind for an hour, and join us as we pray in this ancient Christian tradition and together deepen our understanding of this prayer in our own spiritual journey. Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Immaculate Conception Parish Center (42 Green Street, Newburyport), Conference Room 209. For more information, please visit https://www.hriccatholic.org/.

JESUS aCross the Border
Rooted in the ministry of Jesus Christ, JESUS aCROSS the Border acts as a unifying platform for Catholic young adult (ages 18-35) groups by providing both events and resources that allow these groups to network amongst each other. Whether describing the years after college or the years after Confirmation, the "great gap" of the early 20s through the early 30s can be the most challenging time in a person's life, when they quietly attempt to seek out groups with similar interests, values, and faith. This organization acts as a resource for individuals by providing opportunities for them to discover various Catholic young adult organizations and events and build faith based friendships. Click here for upcoming JESUS aCross the Border events or for the Master Calendar where all local young adult organizations post their events. Padre Pio Prayer Group
Carmelite Chapel, Northshore Mall, 210 Andover Street, Peabody
The idea of Prayer Groups was promoted and supported by Padre Pio because he envisioned them as God’s instruments of relief for a suffering world. Padre Pio: "Let us gather periodically for prayer in common. Today’s society does not pray, that is why it is falling apart." Prayer group meetings take place monthly.
