One day on a mountaintop, in the company of Peter, James, and John, Jesus was transfigured and his identity was revealed as the beloved Son of our heavenly Father, the glorious fulfillment of Moses and the law, and of Elijah and all the prophets. They got a whole new insight into Jesus, the Lord and his mission.
There are moments when our vision gets wider and sharper, and our hearts get softer… and it usually happens with some experience of human suffering providing us with a window and light to see people more like God sees them. Our lives are sprinkled with experiences of people and events that can be eye-openers and life changers if we are open and willing to see as God wants us to see. So, may we see the Lord and his people differently this Lent, and serve Christ and the Church with greater fidelity and compassion!
