The Celebrations

This year, our pastor Father Paul Ritt, celebrated his fortieth anniversary as a priest.  On October 17, a Mass and brunch was held in his honor at St. Maria Goretti Church.  On October 23, a Mass and dinner was held in his honor at Our Lady of the Assumption Church.  And on November 10, an after-school reception was hosted by OLA School.

A Note of Thanks from Fr. Paul

I want to express my sincere, heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended the Ave Maria Parish and OLA School receptions celebrating my fortieth anniversary of ordination to the priesthood. In addition, I am touched and very grateful for all the congratulatory cards, generous gifts, and best wishes that the people of our faith community offered to me the last several weeks. In a particular way, I wish to thank Fr. Tony and the staff members of our parish and school for their efforts to arrange these receptions and for their steadfast support of me over the years.

Having spent over half of my 40 years as a priest here in Lynnfield, first as a newly ordained Parochial Vicar; then as a visiting priest on the weekends; and finally as the Pastor of the Lynnfield Catholic Community, I feel very blessed to have marked this anniversary with all of you. I look forward to serving you for years to come. You will all continue to be in my prayers. Again, many thanks!

Fr. Paul Ritt
