Baptism Ministry

Fr. Paul baptizes Allison Caron at OLA 12/20/17

"The rediscovery of the value of one's baptism is the basis of the missionary commitment of every Christian… we understand even more that, in virtue of baptism, we have an inherent missionary vocation."  Pope Benedict XVI

Our Baptism Ministry is primarily a ministry of welcome and accompaniment, made up of volunteer couples from Ave Maria Parish.  As families prepare to have their child baptized, we accompany them throughout the Baptism Preparation and Baptism celebration itself, and hopefully well beyond.  Couples who serve as part of the Baptism Ministry facilitate Baptism Preparation meetings and assist clergy at the Baptism celebrations.  There is always room on our team for couple facilitators, especially couples who have children under 10 years of age.  Other volunteers may help provide child care, or shop for and host coffee and bagels.  If you would like to request information about serving on our Baptism Ministry Team, please contact: Kate McGrath, Pastoral Associate.
